Tuneform, LLC owns and operates Shred Scopes. In this Privacy Policy, "Shred Scopes," "Company," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Tuneform, LLC, doing business through the Shred Scopes product, website, applications, and services, unless the context requires otherwise.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how we share it, and what choices you have. By accepting this Privacy Policy or using Shred Scopes, you consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the Shred Scopes Terms of Service.
The Short Version
We only collect the information we need to provide, secure, support, and improve Shred Scopes. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Shred Scopes is designed around GoPro telemetry and video-overlay workflows, so some features may process GPS coordinates, speed, altitude, route, sensor, file, and render data that you choose to provide. We use that information to provide the Service, generate your outputs, manage your Account, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and communicate with you.
No matter where you are, where you live, or what your citizenship is, we aim to provide a high standard of privacy protection to all users, subject to the laws that apply to us and to you.
Shred Scopes Privacy Policy
What Information Shred Scopes Collects and Why
Categories of Personal Information
"User Personal Information" is any personal information about one of our users which could, alone or together with other information, personally identify them. Information such as an email address, username, password, real name, profile image, payment-related account information, third-party sign-in identifier, support request, or IP address may be User Personal Information. User Personal Information includes Personal Data as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation.
"Technical Information" may include information we collect from website browsers, applications, devices, servers, logs, APIs, rendering tools, security systems, and analytics tools. Technical Information may include browser type, device type, operating system, language preference, referring site, requested URLs, dates and times of requests, session data, application events, error logs, feature usage, IP addresses, device identifiers, and similar information. Technical Information may be connected to User Personal Information.
"Telemetry and Media Information" may include GoPro or camera metadata, GPMF data, GPS coordinates, speed, altitude, distance, route, acceleration, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, timestamps, file metadata, render settings, overlay templates, preview images, uploaded assets, generated overlays, and exported videos or files that you choose to process, save, generate, or upload through Shred Scopes. Depending on what you submit, Telemetry and Media Information may reveal location history, activity patterns, routes, dates, times, or other information connected to you or other people.
User Personal Information does not include aggregated, deidentified, or non-personally identifying information. We may use aggregated, deidentified, or non-personally identifying information to operate, analyze, improve, and optimize the Website and Service.
Information from Users with Accounts
If you create an Account, we require basic information at the time of Account creation. This may include a valid email address, password, username, sign-in provider account identifier, and other authentication information. You may also have the option to provide additional profile or support information.
If you use Sign in with Google, we receive information from Google such as your Google account identifier, email address, email verification status, name, and profile image, depending on the sign-in flow and your Google account settings. We do not receive your Google password.
If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive information from Apple such as your Apple account identifier, email address, private relay email address if you use Hide My Email, and name if you choose to share it. We do not receive your Apple password.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, we and our payment processors may collect and process payment-related information, such as your plan, subscription status, payment processor customer ID, transaction history, billing address, tax information, partial card details, payment method type, and fraud-prevention information. Shred Scopes does not intentionally collect or store full credit card numbers. Payment processors and app platforms may process that information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Information from Shred Scopes Workflows
When you use Shred Scopes telemetry, rendering, import, export, template, account, subscription, or support features, we may collect and process information necessary to provide those features. This may include:
- GoPro video metadata, GPMF data, GPS data, speed, altitude, distance, route, acceleration, and other telemetry data extracted from files you choose to inspect or use;
- file names, file sizes, file types, timestamps, checksums, and related file metadata;
- project settings, render settings, export settings, overlay templates, colors, typography choices, layers, images, uploaded assets, and saved presets;
- generated previews, thumbnails, rendered overlays, output videos, download links, task statuses, and error logs;
- subscription, plan, account, and quota information;
- communications with support; and
- usage events that help us operate, debug, secure, and improve the Service.
Some Shred Scopes features process source video files locally in your browser or on your device. Other features upload, store, or process extracted metadata, project settings, templates, images, rendered overlays, output videos, or related Content on Shred Scopes servers. Unless a feature clearly indicates that a source video file is being uploaded or stored, Shred Scopes generally works from extracted telemetry and metadata rather than storing full original GoPro video files.
Information from Website Browsers and Applications
If you browse the Website or use an application, we collect the same basic information that most websites and applications collect. We use common internet technologies, such as cookies, local storage, web server logs, application logs, and security logs, to collect Technical Information.
The information we collect about visitors may include browser type, device type, language preference, referring site, requested pages, additional websites requested, application events, error reports, and the date and time of each request. We may also collect potentially personally identifying information like IP addresses.
Why We Collect This Information
- We need User Personal Information to create your Account, authenticate you, provide the services you request, process subscriptions, and respond to support requests.
- We use User Personal Information, such as your username or email address, to identify you on Shred Scopes and communicate with you.
- We use third-party sign-in information from Google, Apple, or other providers to create and authenticate your Account, secure login flows, prevent abuse, and maintain Account continuity.
- We use Telemetry and Media Information to inspect files, extract metadata, save telemetry entries, generate previews, render overlays, create exports, provide downloads, and otherwise deliver the Shred Scopes workflow you request.
- We use payment-related information to process subscriptions, manage plans, prevent fraud, calculate taxes, handle refunds, reconcile payments, and provide billing support.
- We collect Technical Information to better understand how visitors and users use Shred Scopes, to debug and improve the Service, and to monitor and protect the security, integrity, and availability of the Website, applications, and infrastructure.
- We may use User Personal Information and Technical Information to make recommendations for features, templates, plan options, support articles, or other services that may be useful to you. These recommendations may be automated, but they have no legal impact on your rights.
- We collect personal information from third parties for the purposes for which it was authorized to be collected. If we need to use your personal information for other purposes, we will ask your permission first where required.
- We use User Personal Information and Technical Information for internal purposes, such as maintaining logs for security, abuse prevention, training, legal documentation, and compliance.
- We limit our use of User Personal Information to the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy. If we need to use User Personal Information for other purposes, we will ask your permission first where required.
Our Legal Basis for Processing Information
Under certain international laws, including GDPR, Shred Scopes is required to notify you about the legal basis on which we process User Personal Information. Shred Scopes processes User Personal Information on the following legal bases:
Contract Performance
When you create a Shred Scopes Account, you provide an email address or third-party sign-in information, and may provide a username. We require those data elements for you to enter into the Terms of Service agreement with us, and we process those elements on the basis of performing that contract.
When you use telemetry, template, render, export, storage, download, or support features, we process the information necessary to provide the features you request.
If you have a paid Shred Scopes plan, there will be other data elements we or our payment processors must collect and process on the basis of performing that contract.
Consent
You may choose to provide optional profile information, connect or use third-party sign-in providers, opt into marketing communications, upload optional assets, or use features that process location and telemetry data. We process this information on the basis of consent where consent is the appropriate legal basis. Much of this information is optional, and you may access, modify, delete, disconnect, or stop using those features as described in this Privacy Policy or within the Service.
Legitimate Interests
Generally, the remainder of the processing of personal information we perform is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests. For example, for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, system reliability, debugging, product improvement, support, and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of Shred Scopes systems, Website, applications, and Service, we must keep logs and process Technical Information.
Legal Compliance
We may process or retain information when necessary to comply with legal obligations, tax obligations, payment rules, court orders, lawful requests, consumer protection rules, app platform requirements, sanctions screening, or other compliance obligations.
If you would like to request erasure of data we process on the basis of consent or object to our processing of personal information, please contact Shred Scopes support.
What Information Shred Scopes Does Not Intentionally Collect
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, genetic data, health information, religious information, or government identification numbers. Although Shred Scopes does not request or intentionally collect this kind of information, you may choose to upload, store, or process Content that contains sensitive information. If you store or process sensitive personal information through the Service, you are responsible for complying with any laws or regulatory controls regarding that data.
Shred Scopes does process GPS, route, speed, altitude, sensor, and other telemetry data when you choose to use telemetry features. This information may be sensitive because it can reveal where you were, when you were there, and how you moved. Only submit telemetry data that you have the right to process.
If you are a child under the age of 13, you may not have an Account on Shred Scopes. Shred Scopes does not knowingly collect information from or direct any content specifically to children under 13. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a User is under the age of 13, we will close that Account. Other countries may have different minimum age limits, and if you are below the minimum age for providing consent for data collection in your country, you may not use Shred Scopes without obtaining your parent or legal guardian's consent where permitted by law.
We do not intentionally collect User Personal Information that is stored in free-form Content inputs. Information in your Account belongs to you, and you are responsible for it, as well as for making sure that your Content complies with our Terms of Service. Any personal information within a user's account media, templates, telemetry, filenames, project settings, or uploads is the responsibility of the Account owner.
How We Share the Information We Collect
We share User Personal Information with your permission so we can perform services you have requested or communicate on your behalf.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade User Personal Information with third parties for their commercial purposes, except where you have specifically told us to or where legally permitted in connection with a transaction described below.
We do not host third-party advertising on Shred Scopes. We may occasionally embed content or links from third-party sites, and those third parties may collect information under their own policies. Any advertisements shown by third-party embedded content are not sponsored by, or tracked by, Shred Scopes unless we expressly say otherwise.
We do not disclose User Personal Information outside Shred Scopes except in the situations listed in this Privacy Policy or in the section below on compelled disclosure.
We may share aggregated, deidentified, or non-personally identifying information with others about how users, collectively, use Shred Scopes or respond to our offerings. We do not sell this information to advertisers or marketers.
We share User Personal Information with a limited number of third-party vendors who process it on our behalf to provide, secure, support, or improve the Service. These vendors may perform services such as cloud hosting, object storage, content delivery, payment processing, fraud prevention, customer support, email delivery, authentication, analytics, logging, error monitoring, network data transmission, and similar services. While Shred Scopes primarily processes User Personal Information in the United States, third-party vendors may process data outside the United States or the European Union.
We may share User Personal Information if we are involved in a merger, sale, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, acquisition, or transfer of assets. If any such change of ownership happens, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it is under terms that preserve the confidentiality of User Personal Information, and we will notify you on our Website, through the Service, or by email before transfer of your User Personal Information where required. The organization receiving any User Personal Information will have to honor any promises we have made in this Privacy Policy or in the Terms of Service, unless you are notified otherwise.
Data Retention and Deletion of Data
Generally, Shred Scopes will retain User Personal Information for as long as your Account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
We may retain certain User Personal Information indefinitely unless you delete it or request its deletion. For example, we do not automatically delete inactive user accounts unless required by law or by our internal policies.
If you would like to cancel your Account or delete your User Personal Information, you may do so through your Account settings where available or by contacting Shred Scopes support. We may require verification to confirm that the deletion request is intentional and made by the Account owner.
We will retain and use information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, prevent abuse, maintain security, complete transactions, and keep legally required records. Barring legal requirements or legitimate retention needs, we will delete your full profile and associated Account Content within a reasonable period after deletion, generally within 90 days. Some information may remain in encrypted backups, logs, payment records, platform records, or legally required records for longer.
After an Account has been deleted, certain data may remain, but we will delete or deidentify personal information, including your username and email address, where required and reasonably possible.
If you used Sign in with Apple, we will follow applicable Apple requirements for revoking tokens or credentials when your Account is deleted. If you used Sign in with Google or another third-party sign-in provider, you may also be able to revoke Shred Scopes access from that provider's account permissions page. Revoking a third-party sign-in connection does not necessarily delete your Shred Scopes Account; you should also delete your Shred Scopes Account if you want the Account removed.
In Shred Scopes mobile applications that support Account creation, we provide an in-app way to initiate Account deletion, subject to applicable platform rules and legal requirements.
Our Use of Cookies and Tracking
Cookies
Shred Scopes uses cookies and similar technologies, such as HTML5 localStorage and session storage, to make interactions with the Service easy and meaningful. We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, secure sessions, prevent fraud, protect the Service, and provide information for Shred Scopes development and improvement. For security reasons, we may use cookies to identify a device or session.
By using our Website or Service, you agree that we can place these types of cookies on your computer or device where permitted by law. If you disable your browser or device's ability to accept these cookies, you may not be able to log in or use some Shred Scopes services.
Tracking and Analytics
We use third-party analytics and service providers to help us evaluate users' use of Shred Scopes, compile statistical reports on activity, improve content and website performance, debug errors, and understand product usage. We also use internal analytics software to provide features and improve performance.
Some browsers have incorporated "Do Not Track" features that can send a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not a universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to Do Not Track signals, our response may vary by browser, feature, region, and applicable law.
Google Analytics
Shred Scopes uses Google Analytics or similar analytics services as third-party analytics services to understand website or application performance, user navigation, and marketing effectiveness. Google Analytics may collect information about how the Website or application performs and how users, in general, navigate through and use Shred Scopes. This helps us evaluate use of Shred Scopes, compile statistical reports on activity, and improve content and performance.
Google provides further information about its own privacy practices and offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics tracking at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google also explains how Google uses information from sites and apps that use Google services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA on certain areas of the Website or Service to help ensure that actions are being performed by real people and not automated bots. reCAPTCHA v2, reCAPTCHA v3, or similar anti-abuse tools are used depending on the need. Users are subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. See Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.
Information from Third Parties and Sign-In Providers
Google Sign-In
Shred Scopes allows you to create an Account or sign in using your Google account. When you use Sign in with Google, Google will ask your permission to share certain information with Shred Scopes. Depending on the implementation and your choices, this may include your Google account identifier, email address, email verification status, name, and profile image.
We use Google sign-in information only to create, authenticate, secure, and administer your Shred Scopes Account; communicate with you; prevent abuse; and provide the Service. We do not receive your Google password. We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google user data for serving ads, retargeting, personalized advertising, credit-worthiness, lending, or unrelated surveillance purposes.
Shred Scopes does not use Google Sign-In to provide direct YouTube channel connection, YouTube upload, or YouTube channel management features, and does not request YouTube channel management scopes for account sign-in. For Google API integrations beyond account sign-in, Shred Scopes requests only the scopes needed for the user-facing feature, provides in-product disclosures where appropriate, and uses Google user data only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and the feature flow.
You can review or revoke third-party access through your Google Account permissions at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Google's use of your information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Sign in with Apple
Shred Scopes allows you to create an Account or sign in using your Apple Account. When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may share a unique account identifier, your name if you choose to share it, and either your real email address or a private relay email address if you use Hide My Email.
We use Apple sign-in information only to create, authenticate, secure, and administer your Shred Scopes Account; communicate with you; prevent abuse; and provide the Service. We do not receive your Apple password. If you use Apple's private relay email service, emails from Shred Scopes may be sent to that relay address and forwarded by Apple according to Apple's rules and your Apple settings.
You can manage apps and websites using Sign in with Apple through your Apple Account settings. Apple's use of your information is governed by Apple's privacy information at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy.
Payment Processors and Platforms
Shred Scopes uses Stripe, Apple, Google, or other payment processors or platforms to process payments, subscriptions, taxes, fraud checks, and refunds. These providers may collect and process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. Shred Scopes receives information needed to manage your Account, plan, subscription status, invoices, transactions, refunds, chargebacks, and support requests, but does not intentionally collect or store full credit card numbers.
Other Third-Party Services
Shred Scopes uses third-party cloud, hosting, storage, content delivery, email, support, analytics, error monitoring, security, and infrastructure providers to operate the Service. These providers process information on our behalf to provide, secure, support, and improve Shred Scopes.
How Shred Scopes Secures Your Information
Shred Scopes takes measures reasonably necessary to protect User Personal Information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction; maintain data accuracy; and help ensure appropriate use of User Personal Information.
In the event of a data breach that affects your User Personal Information, we will act promptly to mitigate the impact of the breach and notify affected users without undue delay where required by law.
Transmission of data on Shred Scopes is encrypted using HTTPS and SSL/TLS where appropriate. Administrative access may use secure protocols such as SSH. We also use access controls, logging, backups, and security practices intended to protect the Service.
No method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How We Respond to Compelled Disclosure
Shred Scopes may disclose personally identifying information or other information we collect about you to law enforcement, government authorities, or other parties in response to a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or similar legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our property or rights, or those of third parties or the public at large.
In complying with court orders and similar legal processes, Shred Scopes strives for transparency. When permitted, we will make a reasonable effort to notify users of any disclosure of their information unless we are prohibited by law or court order from doing so, or in rare exigent circumstances.
How We Communicate with You
We will use your email address, including any Google email address or Apple private relay address associated with your Account, to communicate with you about the Service.
Shred Scopes may send transactional emails about your Account, security, sign-in, password resets, email verification, subscriptions, payments, renders, exports, support requests, policy changes, or other service-related matters. You cannot opt out of receiving important transactional or legal communications from us.
Shred Scopes sends marketing emails based on your choices and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link or other opt-out method.
Our emails may contain a pixel tag or similar technology, which is a small image or request that can tell us whether an email was opened and what IP address or device information was associated with that request. We use this information to make email more effective and to avoid sending unwanted email.
Changes to This Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time based on your comments, changes to the Service, legal requirements, platform requirements, or our need to accurately reflect our data collection, use, and disclosure practices. If we decide to change this Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page, update the Privacy Policy modification date, notify you through the Service, or email you where appropriate.
