Export a separate telemetry overlay when you plan to place the graphics over video in another editor, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve. Choose a format with alpha-channel support if you want a video with a transparent background.
Export the overlay
When your template is ready for export, follow these instructions to export your video:
- Locate the "EXPORT" panel in the sidebar
- Set your desired output format (default is PNG codec .mov).
- Set the export size if necessary
- The Default is 1x. This exports out a video with dimensions matching the size of the template's canvas.
- Use "Preserve source timecode" if you want the export to match the timecode of your input video, and your finishing workflow needs it. This is not available for webm exports.
- Press the Export Button in the Editor menu bar and choose where you want to save the file on your computer.
- Your export will begin. Ensure the tab stays open and visible in the browser window during export, otherwise your export may stall until the tab is refocused.
Available Export Formats
- "PNG codec .mov (alpha)" writes PNG frames in a MOV container and preserves transparency.
- "WebM (VP9/VP8 alpha)" preserves transparency in a WebM file when the selected browser encoder supports it.
- "QuickTime Animation .mov (qtrle alpha)" writes a transparency-capable MOV intended for compatible post-production software.
- "MP4 (H.264, keyed background)" does not contain alpha. It renders the overlay over a solid background color that you remove with a chroma-key effect.
Export Size Options
The overlay export offers full size, half size, and quarter size. You can sometimes speed up exports by choosing .5x or .25x.
